Friday 27 October 2023
The AILA Fall 2023 RDC-EMEA Conference took place on 26 and 27 October 2023 in St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel, London.
Christi spoke on a session called: American Horror Story: Renunciations of US Citizenship and Abandonment of Permanent Residence, in a panel alongside Bernard Wolfsdorf, WR Immigration and Patricia Lydon, USTAXFS.
Obtaining renunciation of US citizenship appointments is still an issue worldwide, with timelines stretching longer and longer. This panel will provide strategies for obtaining appointments at various US consulates, the requirements for various posts, and how to best communicate with the consular post to assist your client with the renunciation process. It will also cover key considerations you should be advising clients on prior to proceeding with renunciations or abandonment of permanent residence.
